Clowns Around A Table
Rich hyper-real image of 3 semi-nude, unsettling female clown-ettes. At the same time erotic, comical and disturbing. The surrounding destruction hints at a dangerous undertone, but delivers intense detail. The vibrant colours deliver a cheeky mood. Upon closer inspection, you'll see that it's not in fact, 3 clowns, but 3 aspects of the same clown. Several techniques are borrowed from modern digital cinematic film-making to construct an impossible image with impossible vibrance, which is then used as the starting point for this work. The clown's outfit is based on one used by Barbara Windsor on stage during the 1970s
